Terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Please Move Your Car ("we", "us") for our text-message service and this website. By texting Cone, starting a trial, or paying, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be 18 or older and allowed to use the phone number you text from.
Message program
Please Move Your Car sends recurring text reminders about street sweeping and posted no-parking, no-standing and no-stopping hours to people who text us first. Message frequency varies, usually two texts per sweep you check in for, plus replies to what you send and notes about your trial and billing. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Reply START to opt back in. Consent to texts is not a condition of any purchase. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Subscription and automatic renewal
- Free trial: 14 days. A card is required to start the trial. You are not charged during the trial.
- Price after the trial: $5 per month or $50 per year, whichever plan you pick at checkout, in US dollars. Your card is charged when the trial ends.
- Automatic renewal: your subscription renews automatically every month (monthly plan) or every year (yearly plan) and your card is charged each time, until you cancel.
- How to cancel: reply STOP to any text from Cone (CANCEL, END, QUIT and UNSUBSCRIBE work the same way). Cone stops texting you right away and you are not charged again. During the free trial, that cancels your subscription right away and you are never charged. On a paid plan, your subscription is set to end when the month or year you already paid for ends, and it does not renew; reply START before then and your plan picks up again with no new card. You can also cancel through the billing link Cone texts you (reply PAY to get it); a cancellation there takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for, and reminders keep working until then. Or email hi@pleasemoveyourcar.com and we will cancel for you.
- Payments: processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe emails you a reminder before your free trial ends and, on the yearly plan, before each renewal.
- If a payment fails: reminders pause right away, and nothing is sent until the card goes through. Stripe emails you about it and keeps retrying, and Cone texts you once with a link to fix it. When the payment goes through, reminders start again on their own. When your plan ends, reminders stop.
- Refunds: past charges are not refunded, except where the law requires it. If you were charged by mistake, email us and we will make it right.
- Price changes: we will text you before any price change applies to you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
What you send us
Send photos of parking signs and streets, and only things you have the right to send. You keep ownership of your photos. You let us store them for 30 days and process them, including with an AI service, to run the reminders. Please do not send photos of people or other people's license plates.
No guarantee
Cone uses AI to read signs and city data and can be wrong or late. Every photo gets a confirmation of what Cone read so you can catch a mistake. Texts can be delayed or lost by carriers, phones, or our own systems. The posted sign and the City's decisions are the rules; if Cone and the sign disagree, the sign wins. You are responsible for the posted rules, meters, and any ticket or tow. We don't pay or reimburse tickets.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to NYC DOT, DSNY, or the City of New York.
Limits of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim about the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including parking tickets, fines, towing, or lost time. Some places do not allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.
Fair use and changes
One phone number is one account. Do not use the service to harass anyone or to get around billing; we can suspend an account that does. We may change these terms or the service. For changes that matter we will update the date above, and for changes to what you pay we will text you first.
Governing law
New York law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled informally will be brought in the state or federal courts in New York County, New York.
